Question:
Wysong mentions in its response to Nature's Logic claims (
http://www.wysong.net/pet-health-and-nutrition/no-vitamin-mineral-processed-foods.php) that NL purportedly adds protease enzymes to its foods that hydrolyze proteins. Thus, according to their logic, their own foods would be laced with MSG. Unfortunately I can't find any Protease enzymes in their products. Can you let me know which of their products carry Protease enzymes?
Answer:
A quick search on their website reveals protease listed at the bottom of the dry diet pages.
Also keep in mind that the body hydrolyzes proteins with acid and proteases as a normal part of digestion.

Thanks for your reply. I managed to locate Nature's Logic Protease - found in their product Canine Beef Meal Dinner Fare. If the enzyme Protease causes MSG, what about other enzymes like lipase, alpha amylase, cellulase? Will they cause MSG?
Answer:
We do not agree with the MSG information from NL. We only point out that they do not understand biochemistry or food processing or what is or is not toxic, since the very thing they condemn would, by their logic, be in their products.
