StudiesQuestion:Why aren't there any actual "studies" done for Wysong Uretic for cats and probably all of your products? Found studies for other brand foods, but not yours. Answer:
We do not perform feeding studies on caged animals because it is unnecessary for our natural products and would be cruel to animals. Wysong diets are designed to emulate the food carnivores have eaten for their entire genetic history. In that regard there is nothing to test. Wysong Diets have successfully fed tens of thousands of pets for multiple generations for the past 35 years. We feel such is perhaps the best study of all. For more information about animal testing and feeding trials, please follow this link: http://www.wysong.net/pet-health-and-nutrition/animal-testing-and-feeding-trials.php. For more information about the rational for Wysong feline diets, please follow this link: http://www.wysong.net/pet-health-and-nutrition/rationale-for-feline-diets.php. Question: Food isn't FDA approved like others. Not talking about studies on caged animals. Studies done like other food companies do. And why now is my cat starting to get his crystal problems back since I changed it to Uretic from his Royal Canin Urinary SO food. Answer:
If you will refer to the reference sections in the technical monographs you will see that all Wysong ingredients are backed by scientific studies. With regard to Uretic, we also have some 25 years of field experience with the product. Those results can be found here: http://www.wysong.net/testimonials.php. However, every creature is biochemically unique and what works for one will not always work for another. Otherwise nutrition and medicine would be far more precise than it is. We are unaware of any properly controlled scientific studies by any pet food company proving their foods for long term health. The studies we have seen fail a proper scientific design in many respects. Also, studies sponsored by the company that stands to gain by a positive result cannot be trusted. If you follow the Optimal Health Program and the information sent to you on urinary disease in cats we believe you will have the best long term success. Question: What is the scientific proof of your products? Do you have studies? Answer:
All ingredients used in Wysong products are supported by scientific studies. References can be found in product monographs, such as here (http://www.wysong.net/PDFs/rx.pdf), or by doing any Internet search using the phrase: What are the health benefits of ___________________. Wysong also has the empirical and experiential evidence of feeding hundreds of thousands of people and animals for the past 35 years. Animals have been fed Wysong products through multiple generations. See the results reported by users of Wysong testimonials. Although some commercial and prescription foods may give the impression that they are scientifically proven, that is not the case. Proof would require a double-blind crossover clinical trial with randomized participants in such numbers as to be statistically valid. No such study has ever been performed on any mixed and complete pet food or reported in any scientific or medical journal. In lieu of that, it is best to examine the nutritional and health philosophy of the producer, the reasonableness and validity of their claims, their technical expertise, history of feeding successfully, testimonials, and the scientific support for their processing and ingredients.
