UnCanny

Question:
I do understand the Wysong idea of rotation, which I agree with, except my Dog is sensitive and does take a long time to transition her to new things. But I do try new foods with her, I just go slow with it.

I was just wondering if the UnCanny is formulated to meet the nutritional guidelines set by the AAFCO. I just want to know if the product has added vitamins/minerals or not.

Answer:
UnCanny™ is considered a complete diet for cats and dogs. It does not say this on the label because we don't wish to mislead people into thinking they should feed only one food. Even though we may not make such a claim on a label, our foods have as much and more nutrition than any on the market.

Question:
Some times I think my dog has reacted to some of the vitamin "packs" added by some manufactures. I was buying some food from a local person and it was unsupplemented. The formula was changed to meet the AAFCO guidelines, thus they added vitamins/minerals. As soon as they added this my dog started getting very runny eyes, itchy ears and a very loose stools.

Answer:
Allergenic reactions are to proteins, not vitamins and minerals. Please see this article for more incite: The "Food Allergies Are Cured By Eliminating Certain Pet Food Ingredients" Myth: http://www.wysong.net/pet-health-and-nutrition/the-food-allergies-are-cured-myth.php.

Question:
Even tho Wysong does believe in rotation, I still think it is helpful to know if the food is meant for intermittent/supplemental feeding, or if the food meets the AAFCO guidelines. You do put that information on your kibble, and I think it should be known for each one of your foods.

Answer:
We understand, but it is our view that no food should be labeled complete and balanced since it encourages singular feeding.

Question:
Some more questions for you!

AuJus canned food - it has organ meat in it - correct? What about any calcium to offset the meat content? Or do I not need to be concerned with this if I am planning on mixing this with 1/8 canned Aujus and 3/4 synogren kibble? I also use your C-Biotic and Dentatreat - these add to the calcium level - correct?

Answer:
Yes, the Au Jus™ canned consist of meat and organs only. We recommend supplementing or rotating them with the Call of the Wild™, which provides vitamins, minerals (such as calcium), digestive enzymes, and probiotics. Since you already have C-Biotic™, you can rotate it with the Call of the Wild™. With the variety you are wisely feeding, imbalances are of little concern. Please see this link about feeding by percentages: http://www.wysong.net/pet-health-and-nutrition/does-your-pet-need-a-percent-of-something.php.

Question:
I have tried mixing 1/8 Archetype to 3/4 synogren kibble and my dog is having loose stools. Can you help explain this? Too much fiber or too much fat? Can you help explain this?

Answer:
Due to Wysong's highly concentrated nutritional formulation, especially the TNT™ products such as Archetype™, animals that have been previously fed a commercial diet for an extended time require time to adjust. Patience is the key. Some animals take longer to adjust than others, which can be up to a month or more. You can add extra probiotic, Pet Inoculant™, to the diet to help the transition.

Question:
You are changing the formula on the Archetype - why? It no longer has beef in it and also the fat content has increased from 28% to 35% - that is a big increase. Can you explain the change?

Answer:
In order to be EU certified, we must eliminate the beef we previously used. Also, the formulation has been improved with the addition of the hearts and livers. If you desire beef, our Archetype Burgers™ made at another location are available. The fat has actually not increased. The previous labels were in error.

Question:
Also your Uncanny - why is there no ground bone in it? Or is there some other source of calcium to offset the meat? Do you suggest Call of the Wild when feeding this?

Answer:
The Wysong UnCanny™ formulas contain Wysong Chelamin™, which is a trace mineral mix that includes calcium as well as over 74 trace other minerals. Additionally, consider that every nutrient does not need to be present in every meal for optimal health to be achieved (see Why Intermittent Feeding: http://www.wysong.net/pet-health-and-nutrition/why-intermittent-feeding.php).

Question:
What do you suggest feeding a dog that needs a little extra fiber but seems to have trouble with too much fat in her diet.

Answer:
You can add the Wild Things™ to the diet, which is a plant based supplement. Excellent fiber is also available in all of our dry extruded diets and in Vegan™.
